DOMINICAN REPUBLIC (June 2002)
Our first trip to the Caribbean we did in 2002 when we had not yet a year of dating.Looking for travel deals, we find a great 2X1 in the back of a free newspaper in Madrid. The price was 600 per person, destination Bayahibe (Dominican Republic), the Viva Dominicus Beach hotel on all inclusive, of course.
The arrival at the airport of Punta Cana so impressed by the heat and humidity, as well as the terminal-shaped hut. After payment queues and entry visa, took us to the hotel. The hotel was lovely, rooms very good, the stunning beach, we found the paradise the first destination in the Caribbean. We had told a friend that the Viva Dominicus Beach had received the award for best animation this year and really deserved it.We did not miss a single night shows during the day there was always some activity they enjoy. The animation team, with a Frenchman named Frank to the head was a group of professionals, theater performances were fun and vibrant, entertained all hours of day and night.
The beach was awesome.Turquoise water, white sand and clear, fine as flour. The length of the beach was great. You could walk to the resort Hacienda Dominicus and make use of their facilities. The sun was very intense and almost one had to be in the water. At dusk, the Bingo-Bongo fun in the pool marking the end of each afternoon and the flight into the shower before being devoured by mosquitoes.
We did the classic tour to Isla Saona, a place that looked lonely back then despite the parade of catamarans, boats and ships that visited him every day.We walked along the beach, we snorkel, also stop in the area of sea stars and of course we took the shots of rum.On another trip, we went snorkeling on the island of Santa Catalina, but did not go to Santo Domingo or any other city.
It was a fun journey, first to another continent, the first at an all inclusive.Upon arrival in Spain we were thinking about the next trip because we could not put off the magnificent beaches and snorkeling. It was the beginning of our first part of traveling life.
